Call for Panels - 23rd NIG Conference at Wageningen University and Research on February 4th and 5th 2026
We invite the public administration and political science community in the Netherlands, Flanders and abroad to contribute to the NIG 2027 Annual Work Conference at Wageningen University and Research by submitting proposals for panels.
The deadline for submission is August 16th, 2026.
Panel proposal topics and requirements
We welcome cutting edge panels on key themes and research areas in the disciplines of public administration and political science.
Panel proposals have to meet the following requirements:
- A description of the proposed theme for the panel (max. 1000 words in English)
- A short summary of the panel for the program booklet (max. 100 words)
- The type of papers (and topics) you welcome in your panel (max. 300 words)
- Due to the increased popularity of the conference, we can only allow a maximum of two chairs per panel. We would prefer it if a panel is organised by two chairs instead of one. We especially encourage early career scholars to apply!
- The proposal should mention the names, affiliations and contact information.
How to submit your panel proposal:
Please submit your panel proposal by going to https://coms.app/nig27/welcome.html and logging into your account. If you don’t have an account yet, you can create it by clicking on “Create an account”. Once logged in, you will find the panel proposal submission form on the left side of your screen, under “Call for Panels – 23rd NIG Conference at Wageningen University and Research February 4th and 5th 2027”.
After acceptance, NIG will advertise your panels, and you should also actively invite authors yourself. Please consult the NIG office before inviting non-NIG members. This also means that there is a upper limit to the number of papers for a panel, depending on the available time slots and the total number of panels. After the call for papers closes, we will allocate the time slots and panel chairs will be asked to review their paper submissions and make a selection.
Panel proposals will have to attract at least four papers to be eligible for a session on their own.
Please be aware that, since the NIG conference has grown a lot in the past four years, we cannot take preferences for timeslots into account. Once the panel is accepted and the number of papers is clear, the organization will allocate the timeslot(s) to your panel.
Evaluation of the proposals
Panel proposals will be evaluated by the NIG management. Accepted proposals and the selection of papers to the panel will be coordinated by the chairs/moderaters of the panel and acceptance/rejection will be communicated via the conference website (COMS). You will receive instructions for this later.
