Our 2021 conference has ended. Over 150 people attended this year’s conference in-person.
Looking back
In 2021, we had to make some last-minute adaptations due to new and changing covid-19 rules of the Dutch government. But: we were able to host our conference in-person at Meetup from the Jaarbeurs in Utrecht.
Here we want to highlight some key moments:
- We hosted 10 panels in-person ranging from substantive topics such as algorithmic governance, EU governance, behavioral public administration and street-level decision making. Some of the many presentations can be found on our Twitter-page and the hashtag NIGNL2021.
- Together with the Vereniging voor Bestuurskunde we hosted the first ever VB-NIG Dialogue on ‘The significance of public administration’.
- The head of our PhD Council, Erik-Jan van Dorp, announced the 2021 best supervisor award. The winner is Prof. Dr. Albert Meijer from Utrecht University. You can read Erik-Jan his speech here.
- On behalf of the Vereniging voor Bestuurskunde, Prof. Dr. Esther Versluis awarded the Van Poeljeprijs for the best dissertation of the Netherlands and Flanders. The winner is Dr. Reinout van der Veer from Nijmegen University. Read more about that here.
